Hi there, I am Emma

I work as a project manager. A parent. An expatriate living in Zurich, Switzerland.

Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.

How It Started

Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of our long-range plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.

The first few months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt harder than they should.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of lessons learned by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.

Why I Built Prairie Mica Frame

Much information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family perspective.

This site aims to bridge that gap — practical tips grounded in real life in Switzerland.

What This Site Is About (And Isn’t)

This site is about:

  • Real-world experience from living in Switzerland
  • Centered on family life and daily realities
  • Updated whenever something truly changes

This site is not:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored-review platform
  • Not a generic travel blog

Forward Looking

Our stay in Switzerland continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.

If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Emma
